OUR STORY

For more than 60 years, Northwest Heating has been built on hard work, trusted relationships, and a commitment to serving our community. Our story began on January 11, 1963, when Frank Marturello Sr. and Tom Strayer started the business originally called Gas Heating Company. Together, they laid the foundation for what would become a long-standing local company, built on quality workmanship and dependable service.

On July 1, 1965, the company officially incorporated, and Tom Strayer left the business around this time. On June 3, 1970, the company changed its name to Northwest Heating. As the business continued to grow, it moved from its original location on Main Street to 103 N. 22nd Street on January 1, 1971. Five years later, on February 5, 1976, Northwest Heating moved to 2202 Main Street, its current home for generations of customers and employees.

Another important chapter began on October 1, 1983, when Frank Marturello and Steve Marturello purchased the company from their father. On October 1, 1996, Frank bought out Steve and became the sole owner, continuing to build on the company's reputation in the community.

In 1989, a young Shaun Vogler joined Northwest Heating. What began as a job became a lifelong connection to the company. Shaun learned the trade, developed his skills, and gained valuable experience working alongside the people who had built Northwest Heating over the years.

In 2000, Shaun left to start his own company. Building and operating it for 14 years gave him a new perspective on the challenges and rewards of ownership. He eventually sold it to his partner, then returned to Northwest Heating in 2014 with a vision for the future.

That journey came full circle on January 29, 2021, when Shaun purchased Northwest Heating. More than 30 years after first joining as an employee, Shaun became its owner, carrying forward a legacy that had begun nearly six decades earlier.

Today, Northwest Heating continues to build on the foundation established in 1963. While the company has experienced changes in ownership, locations, and generations, our commitment to our customers has remained constant.
